Content Playback Based on Weather Conditions

The Player Local Weather Info Plugin allows for real-time updates to the player's attributes based on the current weather conditions at the player's geographic location.

1. Playback Restriction Based on Weather Conditions

By creating a custom attribute called Temperature, you can schedule content to be included in the loop or triggered based on the change in this attribute.

This configuration is made on the publishing page, and to view it, you need to use the logic mode for creating restrictions:

  1. Once you select logic mode, you’ll see the Temperature option.

  1. In the example below, this content is scheduled to play only when the Temperature attribute is greater than 35°C.

Custom attributes can be automatically edited via Local Web API. You can create a simple system running on another computer in the same local network as your player, periodically updating the temperature. Alternatively, you can use a Player Plugin. Note that Player Plugins are only available on specific plans. Contact our team for more information!

2. Content Trigger Based on Weather Conditions (Ask our team for this feature)

  1. In the "How to Play It" options, select Play When Player Attribute Changes.

  1. Then, simply select the attribute of your choice and configure it as needed. In the example below, the trigger is set so that the content is triggered when the updated value of the Temperature attribute is greater than 20°C.

Other options are available to accommodate multiple scenarios and provide flexibility to our users.
